In the wake of the horrific tragedy that occurred today at Abundant Life Christian School, we at St. Ann School are deeply shaken and grieving alongside our brothers and sisters in Christ. Our hearts are heavy as we mourn with the families, faculty, and students affected by this unimaginable loss. We are not only close in proximity to this wonderful school, but also to several of its students, some of whom are St. Ann alumni.
We understand firsthand the intimacy, sense of community, and deep family bonds that are unique to a Christian school. The loss is felt profoundly because we know how precious and irreplaceable these relationships are. So much innocence and joy was stolen today, and we stand with Abundant Life Christian School in this time of heartache.
We grieve with the families who are suffering, and we lift them up in prayer, asking for strength, comfort, and peace. In times like these, it can feel strange to continue with life as normal. We go to pick up our own children, only to hold them tighter, cherishing every moment as they run to us with joy and enthusiasm. But the truth is, nothing is guaranteed. Life is fragile, fleeting, and uncertain.
In these moments, we turn to God's Word for comfort. Psalm 34:18 reminds us that “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” We cling to this truth, knowing that Jesus is near to those who are grieving and that He offers a peace that transcends understanding.
We continue to pray for Abundant Life Christian School, for the families who are affected, and for all those who are mourning. May God bring healing and hope in the midst of this profound sorrow.
